DAY 01: ARRIVE PARO
Visit Ta Dzong which was built in the 17th century to guard the Paro Rimpong dzong (fortress) below. It was the third king who restored the Ta-dzong and converted it into the National Museum. The visit to the museum will familiarize you with the Bhutanese way of life and will also acquaint you with the natural and cultural history. In the evening explore Paro Market

DAY 02: PARO
Hike to Taktshang, Tiger’s Nest: Bhutan’s most scenic icon or the most important landmark, Taktshang the Tiger’s nest clings to the side of a steep cliff 700 meters above the Paro valley. The place was first visited by Guru Rinpoche, founder of the tantric form of Buddhism in Himalayan countries, in the 8th century.

DAY 03: PARO – JELE DZONG
8 km, 4-5 hours. 1090m ascent.
Today is a short trekking day. The journey starts with a climb up to Jele Dzong. The trek trail ascends gradually up to the camp, and if the weather is clear Paro valley can be seen surrounded by snowcapped mountains. Above the camp is Jele La (3400m) and Jele Dzong. There is also a Lhakhang containing a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Overnight at campsite. Altitude 3480m
DAY 04: JELE DZONG – JANGCHULAKHA
10km, 3 – 4hours. 310m ascent, 50m descent
Begin with a one and a half hour climb and then ascend more gradually upwards. The trail takes us through thick alpine forests of rhododendrons. We will have fine views of Mt. Chomolhari and other snowcapped peaks if the weather is right. We may hear some pheasants calling during the day. We may also see yak herders around your campsite. Overnight at campsite. Altitude 3770m.
DAY 05: JANGCHULAKHA – JIMILANGTSHO
11km, 4 hours. 230m descent, 330m ascent.
\The trail follows the ridge, and when the weather is clear views of the mountains and valley are sensational. We will enjoy a great view of Jichu Drake (6989m), the peak representing the protective deity of Paro. Our camp is close to Jimilangtsho lakes, famous for their giant sized trout. Overnight at campsite. Altitude 3870m.
DAY 06: JIMILANGTSHO – SIMKOTA:11km, 4 hours. 820m ascent, 400m descent.
The trail takes us through dwarf rhododendron trees and passes by the lake of Janeetsho. Today we may come across some yak herder’s camps and get an idea of how these people live. We camp overnight close to Simkota Lake. If you are lucky you can catch a lake trout for your dinner. Overnight at campsite.
DAY 07: SIMKOTA – PHAJODING-Thimphu
10 km, 4 hours. 130m ascent, 680m descent.
Today begins with a gradual climb and if the weather permits you will enjoy majestic views of Mt.Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan. You may also view a host of other peaks from Phume La (4080m). The trail slowly descends through juniper trees to a campsite. Overnight at campsite. Altitude 3610m.
The trek to Thimphu is downhill all the way, passing through a forested area of mostly blue pine. Taking a leisurely pace, you reach Thimphu in about 3 hours. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Thimphu.
DAY 08: THIMPHU- PUNAKHA DAY EXCURSION
After breakfast, travel to Punakha Valley. As you make your way out of Thimphu, on the stop, enjoy taking pictures of the Dochula Pass (3150m/10,000ft) with its panoramic views of the Himalayas. The pass is decorated with 108 Druk Wangyel Chorten and Lhakhang which were built to celebrate the stability and progress, brought to Bhutan by His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King.
Visit Punakha Dzong, which stands magnificently on the spit of land where two rivers (Pho chu and Mo chu) meet. Punakha Dzong has special significance in Bhutanese history. It is also the winter residence for the Je Khenpo (spiritual leader) and the entire central monk body. Visit its sacred halls, courtyards, the cantilevered bridge, and walk towards another the longest chain link suspension bridge and retrace your way back to Thimphu.

DAY 09: THIMPHU – PARO
Begin your day by visiting Great Buddha Dordenma popularly known as Buddha Point,is a massive Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating the 60th anniversary of The Great Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
Royal Takin Preserve (Mini Zoo), where you will find the mythical animal takin is national animal of Bhutan only found high altitude of Bhutan.
Towards afternoon, visit The Jungshi Paper Factory that showcases the traditional art of papermaking, which dates back centuries in Bhutan and following to stop at High Quality Thangka where you will be able to witness artist exhibiting live thangka painting, weaving, wood curving and many more.
If time permits, visit KajaThrom, a farmers’ market where people bring their produce such as vegetables, fruits, cereals and dairy products which will give an idea what Bhutanese sale and eats as cuisine and in the evening drive back to Paro.

DAY 10: DEPART PARO : Drive to the airport.
